Our Final Goodbye From Prep/1C

We certainly went out on a high note today, as we all had a fun filled water fight!  What a brilliant way to end a year of such dedicated hard work!

The girls got right into it all!

Poor Mr Krake was soon under attack!

Mrs Arnold couldn't resist joining us for a quick go!

Amy was right into it all, having a real ball!

Look at our boys!  They were right into this water fight!

Poor Mr Krake, they never let up, but he gave as good as he got!

Even some Grade 3/4s wanted to join.

The sun was shining, yet it was pretty cool today, but this did not worry us at all.

The boys were far too fast to feel the cool wind blowing.

All they wanted to do was to get each other!

The girls hung in there, but some of them were beginning to feel a little cold!

Mr Krake had no time to feel cold, he had to keep his defences up!

We all had a ball!

Ryan showed us all how to have a great water fight.

We just kept on going!

We were all soaking we!

The girls eventually became too cold, so tried warming up on the warm concrete.  It was 23C today!

Julian was having great fun!

Things got very busy and we certainly needed lots of refills!

Poor Jasmine's been shot in the back!

A wet Julian, Jamie and Jasmine.

A proud Cale.

A very happy Noah.

Contented Freddie and Ryan.

Photos taken, the boys were back into it!

Thank you all for following the last few months of our year on our Blog.  We hope that you have enjoyed the window that we offered you into our classroom as much as we enjoyed sharing it with you.

So here's wishing you all a very merry Christmas, and a New Year that is filled with all the things that you hoped for.

Keep scrolling down,  there's more!

It's Christmas!

Christmas has been well and truly on our minds in Prep/1C. Even in Maths it was all about Christmas.  The children had to go around the room to collect data concerning our knowledge, wishes and beliefs about Christmas.

We asked questions like "How many reindeer does Santa have pulling his sleigh?" and "How will Santa get into your house to deliver his presents?"

The children collected the data from their classmates, and recorded their findings in a graph.

Look at them here.  They were so amazing!  It took organisation, cooperation and skill to complete this exercise, and they all did it beautifully!

Afterwards we looked at the graphs to interpret them so that we could make statements about our grade.

What a great little group of mathematicians we all are!

You will be enjoying much of our craft now that we very busily made in the run up to the end of the school year.

Ask your child how they made some of these things.  You may enjoy using these techniques on other pieces of artwork over the holidays.

Finally we had a visit from the High School Christmas Band.  This was fantastic!  We even had a number of ex-Wangaratta West Primary School students in the band.

Goodbye Mrs Sibley & Mr Campbell

We all say a very fond farewell to Mrs Joan Sibley on her retirement at the end of this year.  What a very outstanding principal she has been.  She has lead our school to become the best school in Wangaratta and beyond, to which each and everyone of you can attest.   Every morning before school Mrs Sibley is out there meeting and greeting parents and children, showing her genuine care and interest is all of our school community.

Mrs Sibley has driven many projects for the betterment of our school, such as the new Annette McWaters Gardens.

We remember her from assembly, where she hands out those students of the week each week.

We remember her for always being actively involved in all events, as seen here at the pool party, where she busily zoomed about so fast we didn't get a good shot of her!

But most of all we remember all the times when she took the time in her busy days to rejoice in our accomplishments as learners.

Mrs Sibley we love you and we will miss you terribly, but we wish you all the best in your new life beyond Wangaratta West Primary School.

We also say a fond farewell to our deputy principal Mr Ash Campbell who is leaving us to become principal of Milliwa Primary School.

We remember Mr Campbell for always being there for us.  He is very fair, and great fun, readily getting stuck into all events. Here he is at the pool party after winning the parent versus teachers race, but do you remember when he came to assembly as a fairy?  Mr Campbell you never failed to amaze and engage us!

Mr Campbell is always there getting stuck in at all events.  He sees us safely onto the bus, and he is always about to meet and greet all children and parents each morning before school, and say farewell after school.  Mr Campbell we will miss you, and we hope Milliwa realises just how very lucky they are!

What an amazing little group of learners!

Well here we are with only moments left in the year, and what an amazing year it has been.  I am beyond impressed with the dedicated little workers each and every one of these little learners are in Prep/1C.  Their hard work has been rewarded with some outstanding results, and they most certainly deserve to be recognised by Santa this year!

Here they all are:

Georgia with her thirst for learning.

 Jed, our fishing fiend.

Jamie, so bubbly, friendly and chatty.

Bouncy and energetic Eli.

 Luke, our most amazing speller.

 Nature loving Morgan.

 Julian with his quirky humour

 Aida, our 'tidy-up' Queen!

Amazingly hard working Cale.

Ryan with his infectious laugh and twinkling eyes.

 Outstanding team leader, Noah.

 Speedy and hard working Reece.

 Quiet, wonderful story teller, Amy.

Our amazing man of numbers, Freddie.

 Our magnificent artist, Ellie.

Our kind, friendly and gentle uniter of the grade, Jasmine.

Our gentle, confident and hard working Ella.
